2007 Audition Pieces

High School Young Artist and College Young Artist
The High School Young Artist Competition is open to flutists up through grade 12. The College Young Artist Competition is open to full-time undergraduate students who are not more than twenty-five years old. The previous year�s First Place Winners are not eligible. Five finalists will be selected on the basis of a recorded audition to compete at the 2007 Convention January 26, 2007.

COLLEGE RECORDED AUDITION
With complete instrumentation

The five finalists from each competition will perform the recorded selection for judges at the Flute Convention. First Place Winners will perform the same selection in the closing recital January 28, 2007.

ADVANCED MASTERCLASSES

The Advanced Masterclasses are open to all professional flutists, teachers, and students. Six performers and two alternates will be chosen by recorded audition and randomly assigned to either Ms. Porter's or Ms. Ryerson's class.

ADVANCED MASTERCLASS RECORDED AUDITION:
Flute solo of your choice, up to ten minutes in length, with complete instrumentation, which must also be performed in the class.

Junior & Senior Honors Flute Choirs
The Junior Honors Choir is open to flutists up through grade 9. The Senior Honors Choir is open to flutists in grades 9-12. Ninth graders may enter either Junior or Senior Choir, but not both. Participants will be chosen by recorded audition to perform in concert at the convention. During the convention, several rehearsals will also be scheduled. Please indicate on the application your ability to provide, or interest in performing on the piccolo, alto, or bass flute.
